COMPETENCY OBJECTIVES
At the completion of the INMED International Medicine & Public Health Hybrid Course, students in thecontext of a low-resource community will be able to:
· Prevent, diagnose andtreat the leading diseases of poverty
· Prevent, diagnose andtreat HIV infection
· Provide for the health ofpregnant women and newborns
· Demonstrate proficiencyin clinical skills used in low-resource settings
· Advance community-widehealth promotion and death/disability prevention
· Assure that healthcare isculturally appropriate
· Mitigate disaster riskand respond to disaster events
· Design and implementhealthcare as part of a leadership team
· Transfer healthcareskills to other personnel
EDUCATIONAL COMPONENTS/METHODS
Students in the Course will achieve the above learning objectives through the following educational components:
· Interactive onlinepresentations by expert professionals
· Case studies providing analysis
· Skill stations to develop technical facility
· Formation groups exploring personal application
Students will need to devote five to tenhours per week during the online segment of the course.
